Big 10 hoops parity sure would be helpful about now...

Looking at the Big 10 hoops rankings, from a strictly win-loss perspective Wisconsin is leaps and bounds above everyone else. One loss to a surprising 4-loss Missouri State (and 3 of their losses have been by a total of 6 points) is all that's between #2 Wisconsin and a mythical undefeated season. Ohio State has 3 losses, Indiana, Michigan and Michigan State all have 4, and it slopes from there.

If Wisconsin finishes undefeated, ignore the rest of this. But, if Wisconsin loses at Ohio State, we have a split regular season conference title. Disappointing, but I'll live.

Now, if Wisconsin loses at Michigan State (possible) or Indiana (possible), just how boned are we? There's a big problem with the fact that Wisconsin and Ohio State are on a totally different level than the rest of the conference: without a strong 3rd team, we can't rely on Ohio State to lose one somewhere as well. Looking at their schedule, nothing save Wisconsin at tOSU jumps out as a maybe loss.

It's more likely that Ohio State will drop one that Wisconsin. Ivan Harris is their sole senior leader, while Wisconsin has Tucker and Taylor. More importantly, Tucker loves clutch situations: he can shoot off-balance and score two when he shouldn't.

I am now obligated to mention Greg Oden.
